FF NYMC wishes to congratulate our 2016 Scholarship Recipients: Katri Inkiläinen, Andrew Sipilä, Roope Marttila, Jolene Sarkinen, Maria Kuopus, Laura Kivistö, Jenna Granroth, Sofia Rautionmaa, Ellen Virkkunen, Laura Hietamies, Ida Karjalainen and Kalle Mattila.

The Finlandia Foundation New York Metropolitan Chapter has a distinguished record of awarding scholarships to qualified individuals for study in the United States and Finland in such fields as: science, medicine, business, music, art, history, education, and Finnish studies.

Scholarships for American students who are conducting research in Finland or Finnish related subjects in U.S., and Finnish students studying in U.S. will be considered.
 All grants are intended for study or research at an accredited institution for the ensuing academic year, and are in the amount of $500 to $5,000. To date, more than $350,000 in scholarships have been awarded from the following endowments:


The John A. Pihlman and Annie E. Wikander Scholarship Fund Provides financial assistance to American students who wish to study in Finland and Finnish students who wish to combine study in Finland and the United States.
The Tyyni Kalervo Scholarship Fund Provides financial assistance primarily for students from Finland, wishing to pursue higher education in the United States
The Jean Sibelius Memorial Fund Open to qualified applicants whose goals require the study of Finnish Arts.
The New York Metropolitan Chapter Scholarship Fund Provides scholarships to persons preferably of Finnish heritage.

Emailed applications with attachments only, thank you. Completed applications with a proposed plan of study, transcripts and letters of recommendation must be received by February 15th. All applicants will be notified of the Scholarship Committee's decision by the end of May each year.
