EEPPI URSIN - MY FINNISH SOUL
Album Release Concert
Eeppi Ursin - Vocals and Piano
New York-based Finnish singer-pianist Eeppi Ursin celebrates the launch of
her new album My Finnish Soul by giving a concert at Scandinavia House
Victor Borge Hall.
My Finnish Soul brings well-known Finnish traditional folk and rock classics to
life with soul and jazz tones. Songs such as Säkkijärven Polkka, Myrskyn
jälkeen, Pohjois-Karjala and Moottoritie on kuuma are performed as Eeppi’s
delicate, stripped-down and epically strong interpretations.
The album is a tribute to the three-year period that changed the course of
Ursin's musical career. After moving to New York she developed a virtual
Love Boat concert concept which became a hit, especially among expatriate
Finns during the pandemic. In the beginning of 2022 Ursin was chosen as
Performer of the Year by Finlandia Foundation National. The US tour included
17 concerts in 13 cities taking Ursin all the way to Alaska.
The content of My Finnish Soul is based on songs requested by Love Boat
audiences as well as concert favorites from the US tour and is already on its
way to becoming a must-have-nostalgia-album for any Finnish expat.
